'JOHANES BURGER HUYS ME FECIT 1676' translated means; 'MADE BY JOHANES BURGER IN 1676' - History of Gunfounder; Johannes Burgerhuys - BURGERHUYS, JAN (JOHANNES): Middleburg (Netherlands), d. 1679 - Possibly a son of Michael or of the elder Jan. Master founder at the Middleburg foundry which was closed down at his death not being re-established until 1754. (Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, two guns dated 1675.
